Whether it’s a special 3rd hour presentation that all adults should attend, or a monthly teacher council meeting, here’s how some wards have covered Primary to make it possible for Primary workers to be included:
Depending on building space, some wards combine sharing/singing time during the second hour, then the Young Men and Young Women cover Primary classes the third hour.
Some wards have done the other way — all Primary teachers teach 2nd hour, then there is a combined sharing/singing time led by youth during 3rd hour (usually songs and a church video or something similar). Youth may need some supervision, depending upon their maturity. Naturally, the needs of the children still come first, so some children may need to have a particular adult remain in Primary.
Have you addressed this situation in a different way that works? We welcome your comments!
Occasionally, it can be useful for Primary workers to be part of important ward-wide adult lessons, as well as the monthly teacher council meetings outlined in “Teaching in the Savior’s Way”.
